Chickens in the Hen House
Written by Wendy Kissel
Illustrated by Kelly Spencer
The first Freerange Little Print, Chickens in the Hen House, combines a fun and catchy chant with fantastic New Zealand based illustrations.
Through rhythm, rhyme and bold, striking illustrations, this book engages children in basic counting and encourages a shared reading experience. A book that is cute as a button!

She has had various articles published and is delighted that her story was chosen for the first Freerange Little Print.
Illustrator Kelly Spencer
Back in 2008 Kelly was on a boat in Nicaragua, sharing the ocean breeze with a lady who was funding her travels with her design skills. That, to Kelly (lover of travel & creativity), seemed genius. Since then she’s been operating as a freelance illustrator who is mostly based in Wellington (but tends to wander frequently). Her interests lie heavily in the field of lettering & type, and poster design. Creative endeavours to date have involved: Book illustration, web design, sign painting, Tshirt graphics, gig posters, identity design, set design, street art, festival branding, and painting a life size fiberglass baby elephant.
